Why is this eyeliner breaking off?

"I love this eyeliner but it keeps breaking off while I am using it. I don't understand why it is doing this, but it broke on me twice this morning while I was using it. Is there anything that I can do? This is such a waste of money!"

"I love this eyeliner in chestnut. I teach fitness classes and although I do "touch up" after teaching a class, this stays on. I agree with the comments about the tip breaking off, but the liner is cheap so I always keep an extra on hand."

"Like the eyeliner itself, but the product always breaks off. I've tried to only expose a "little bit" at a time, but it doesn't help. Tip always breaks off and wastes product!!!! Makes a mess of carpet etc. when this happens too."

"Always like your product and gave it 3 chances. The liner works fine until you are getting down to the last portion of eyeline and it breaks off everytime. I have spots on my carpet and furniture that won't come out because of the tips "falling off"."

"The eyeliner goes on wonderfully, but the plastic tube and cap begin to crack and fall apart within the first few uses. The cap cracks so badly that I can no longer use it. This problem is so bad that I will cannot continue to use this product."

"I used to love this product, but I haven't been able to find it in black or charcoal at the WalMart near me for about a year now. I tried grey khaki as a replacement, and it broke the first time I used it. Certainly not what I expect from Covergirl."

"I enjoyed the precise point of this liner so much that I bought 3 AND THEN... I used it 1 time a day for 5 days and now it won't advance anymore. I like a natural look so I didn't use much.
I can't believe there's not more than 1/2" of liner."

"The tip of the last three pencils I've purchased break-off way too easily. I am careful to not make the point too long, but it doesn't seem to matter; I end up throwing half of the pencil away, one small chunk at a time."

"I bought this in the Black Onyx and Plum Velvet. I tried to use the purple and I have to go over my eyes for several minutes to get even a hint of line. I was so disgusted that I haven't even bothered to open the black."

"I used to use a Sephora eyeliner, but it kept coming off. I finally used this one in charcoal, and I LOVED how it stayed on! It was also really easy to use. It went on easy, and came off easy!!! Way to go cover girl!"

"I use the Espresso eyeliner which brings out the warmth in my skin. I love that I can draw precise lines and don't have to worry about sharpening it. I've never used liquid eyeliner to compare it to but I really like it and will keep using it daily!"

"I've purchased 2 of these in the charcoal, which isn't nearly as harsh as black. The color is great, however, they were bought at 2 separate times and both pencils keep breaking. Even without twisting them up very far, they break every use."
